Hi Readers,
It has to be said, I know from school that time is meant to be a constant, but this last week it has simply flown by. For me as an artist it’s been sad in a way. The big boat which hit the Kelso skyline and was so well received has set sail and left the building.
The big boat has been much loved, photographed and even made into a short film.
For me it was a real symbol of hope. A dare to be different and record our journeys in sculpture. The boat also acted as an entrance for school groups. It has been dismantled and in the near future will rise again, so watch this space for more information on that.
We will have by the time all works are finished, created a lovely new gallery entrance, again based on my artwork off Abbey Row. This continuing the good work of the regeneration of this part of Kelso. The new access will allow you, our amazing friends and collectors a striking entrance, where a coffee can be enjoyed before or during or after your art visit.
Studio Relocation
It’s official, I will be bringing my studio down the stairs so I can paint and interact with you during any visit.
You asked why the change as you loved the big boat:-
Well so did I but the building now needs a new gallery front where art can be viewed 24/7. Although I’m well known for my big boat paintings, the clapper board finish and layout of the new front will look very homely and I’ve created a lot of paintings of late based on how important taking a house and making it a home for all the family is. My family is the most important thing in my life.
Well works hopefully will be completed soon I’ve got several helpers an amazing joiner, builder and painter, so everything is falling into place.
Well that’s it for now love to you all. Please have a great week ahead and see you all in the gallery soon.
Oh, my the way our Christmas Exhibition will launch on Saturday 3rd December – watch this space for further news…….
