Tony’s approach to life is nothing short of inspiring. When faced with a challenge, his response is simple: find a solution.

From an early age, Tony was captivated by stories of World War II, listening to his grandfather and uncles recount their experiences, and devouring documentaries and movies about the era. This fascination, paired with his own journey in the infantry—a path chosen more out of necessity than desire—shaped his resilience. For a creative thinker, the regimented life of a soldier wasn’t the ideal fit, but it taught him invaluable lessons at what he calls “the sharp end of the spear.”

Aviation take off

In 2010, driven by a deep passion for aviation but hindered by an intense fear of heights, Tony made an extraordinary decision: to conquer his fear by learning to fly. It was a bold and symbolic step, transforming trepidation into mastery.

Once he realised that the controls were in his hands—literally and metaphorically—his confidence soared. After months of dedication, Tony passed his exams and his General Flying Test on the first attempt, officially becoming a private pilot.

During his training, Tony invested in his first aircraft: a Savannah-S. Dubbed “the Land Rover of the sky,” this reliable plane isn’t the fastest, with a 100 mph top speed and a 750-mile range, but its forgiving nature makes it a joy to fly. Over the years, the Savannah has provided him with countless hours of adventure and discovery.

From standing alongside legendary aircraft like the Mosquito and Lancaster to flying over historic landmarks, including a visit to the iconic Wright Brothers airfield, Tony’s journey is a testament to his determination, passion, and the unending pursuit of personal growth.
