Yvonne home from Sheffield and peace and quite is shattered! Not been feeling very well so an easy day, bit of painting and a visit to Berwick-Upon-Tweed for some sea air.

Tues

A trip to the Dentist in Edinburgh, I hate going to the Dentist and whats is even worse – I have to return again next week.  Stopped at the Sun Inn for a spot of Lunch but still not feeling 100%.

Spent the later part of the day in the studio trying to complete the Christmas Commissions, making them personal to the receiver. That human connection and bond with a work especially for someone is very personnel. And it’s fantastic to think you are a part of so many people’s lives. 

Wed

Had to pay a visit to the docs after a week of being under the weather, hope the tablets help. Started another painting today for a lovely couple who are having me paint their home and gardens painted with the two of them as snowmen. It’s of to a great start and will definitely record their love for each other.

Thur

A day of admin all those things we need to do and some painting. 

Paid another trip to Berwick-upon-Tweed and had a walk along Spittal Beach and part of the L S Lowry Trail.  Lowry visited Berwick-upon-Tweed many times and  I love the simple way he recorded figures in his work yet still captured great energy and movement.

It’s official Jim is in town. My good friend and MSP Jim Hume visits the gallery to paint alongside me. Jim is keen to see what we do in the way of supporting people with difficulties in their lives in my mentoring program. Where I throw open my studio and work with young people, young offenders and ex veterans to try, through painting, to help them work their confidence levels back up.  Jim is here to experience what we do and how we do it. Lovely meal at The Allanton Inn to round of the day.

Sat

Jim’s second and final day in the studio due to his busy schedule in the Scottish Parliment. He finishes off his painting and has had a great time with us. For me parliamentarians get a poor press at times, but Jim in my experience has his heart in the right place and is making a difference, so keep up the good work bud. We are visited through the day by several collectors and friends and its a lovely way to finish a week.
