Tony’s Passion for
Motorcycling

For Tony, motorcycling isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way of life. From the moment his father took him on rides perched on the back of a classic Norton, the thrill of the open road was etched into his soul.

As a young boy, Tony scraped together his paper route money to buy his first bike, a humble Honda 90 Cub. It wasn’t flashy, but it was the key to freedom and adventure. Long before he had a license, Tony was zipping through town, exploring riverbanks, racing along the sandy beaches, and tearing up old airfields. Woodland trails became his playground, where confidence and skill grew with every ride.

By the time Tony reached the legal riding age, he was unstoppable. His first official road bike was a Suzuki X1 50, followed by a 100cc scrambler and a CB500. Over the years, Tony has owned an incredible 70 motorcycles, each with its own story to tell. From the roaring engines to the miles of open road, every ride has been packed with memories and joy.

“Motorcycling is simply amazing,” Tony says, his eyes lighting up as he talks about his passion. “Whether you’re touring across continents or green-laning locally, it’s the best way to shake off life’s stresses.”

For Tony, riding isn’t just about transportation; it’s about connection. Whether traveling solo or alongside friends, motorcycling has introduced him to a global community of like-minded enthusiasts. “You’ll never see a motorbike parked outside a shrink’s office,” he laughs, “because riding keeps you calm, grounded, and closer to nature.”

Tony rides year-round, regardless of the weather, and encourages everyone to give it a try. He’s a firm believer in safety, emphasizing the importance of proper gear and responsible riding. “Yes, there are risks, but with the right mindset and precautions, the rewards far outweigh them.”

Motorcycling has also become a way for Tony to give back. Through events like the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, he’s raised funds for worthy causes while meeting fellow riders and making lifelong friends. Whether riding through Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Newcastle, Tony is always part of the action, leaving a positive impact wherever he goes.

Recently, Tony partnered with Dales Wheels Through Time, helping preserve motorcycling history and supporting their fundraising efforts. “There’s a real sense of brotherhood in this community,” Tony says. “We look out for one another, share advice, and celebrate the spirit of adventure together.”

For Tony, motorcycling isn’t just a pastime—it’s a lifestyle that brings joy, freedom, and a profound sense of connection. And he’ll keep riding, exploring, and inspiring others for as long as the road stretches ahead.
