Monday
Well today is the last day in my 40’s, sad but true. Even worse we have a meeting with our accountant. I say worse because although I really like Mike he is going to make me pay my tax bill and that always takes some swallowing and Mike is a Sunderland supporter and they beat my beloved Man United in the last Cup game. Went and picked up an exercise bike for my mate and he will bring over the rowing machine which I have also purchased. Determined to get fit this year.
Tuesday
It has arrived – I am now 50. Had a lovely day with Yvonne in Edinburgh and she bought me a Bose headset for the Savannah, well chuffed. We were out for a meal at Chapters in the evening. Good day although no painting done!
Wednesday
Mam going into hospital for an operation today, we have to get her there by 7.30am so I am dragged out of my bed at 6am. I hate early mornings but need to be there for Mam. It’s a long morning of drinking tea until Mam is back in recovery at 1pm. She then goes straight to ITU. Operation has gone well and I am relieved to see her at 6.30pm. She is well dopey so we only stay 10 mins. Home and straight to bed, worn out.
Thursday
Unfortunately Mam now has an infection ( we think she went into hospital with it) and will be staying in ITU for a few days until she is a bit stronger. This is hard, she has wires and tubes all over her bruised body and I really feel for her. Still don’t feel like painting.
Friday
Went to have a test ride on a new push bike. God, do I feel my age, my wee backside is aching! Mam still in ITU but she seems a bit brighter.
Saturday
In the gallery all day which takes my mind of Mam. Started a new painting with a different style – watch this space. We go in to see Mam in the evening. She is in the best place the care in ITU is just wonderful. Home to bed, its been a long week.
