Stepping back and the sale of the Art House Business

As most of you will know when I first opened the Art House Gallery in Kelso it was to bring some of the finest artwork available in the contemporary art world today to collectors and friends in the Scottish Borders and beyond. Allowing people choice to see and purchase art work in an amazing setting and break down barriers by making a welcoming fantastic friendly art gallery destination and of course to give me a base to paint from.

This we have achieved by making the Art House Gallery one of the major contemporary art galleries in Scotland. We have showcased the works of artists including Doug Hyde, Alex Millar, Mackenzie Thorpe, and many many more. It has also been an amazing place to sell and showcase my own work from.

If you have been following my blog then you will see that with Yvonne fighting cancer since December, juggling everything has been exhausting and taxing.

Yvonne’s fight with Cancer continues with a fresh round of treatments to start in two weeks. So we have realised that to fight the fight and run the gallery the way it needs to be run requires energy and drive that is being used by us elsewhere currently.

So with very sad and heavy hearts we have decided to take a life’s sabbatical from the Art House Gallery business while the fight goes on then, a long well earned break to recharge the batteries. Probably the hardest decision we have ever had to make.

We have talked at length with the new owners we have known them personally for over five years. They are lovely friendly lads who want to maintain the friendliness and values of the gallery and the high calibre of art work. Both David and Gordon love all things good in art they have been collectors for over ten years.

As a final note they have asked me to keep the THH gallery and with the Big boat sculpture remaining also. I have agreed and will remain as artist in residence and Yvonne will be in from time to time, as her usual brilliant welcoming friendly self.

We hope and trust you will give the Art House Gallery’s new owners, David and Gordon your continued support. And I look forward to seeing you schedule permitting on weekends usually Saturdays.
