Well Hello and welcome back to my blog.

We’ve only been back ten days but the list of things to do and therefore catch up with,  seems endless and really eating into my painting time. I know it will eventually settle down, but even knowing it’s coming never really helps with hours in days.

Today though the weather has been kind, what a difference a blue sky and a little sunshine makes to my old bones. Even with a chilling fresh breeze to walk through.

The power of Art –

I was commissioned to paint a pre wedding gift for Rosanne and Ian, from mum dad and the family. They married recently and their wedding pictures were very similar to the commission. Good luck with your lives ahead together and well done to the family for commissioning.

Question

Q What’s the difference between a commission and your normal paintings.

A  Good question

Well I paint what I love to paint and these are usually the pictures you see in my gallery.

A commission is normally where I’m approached to paint a specific family or individual incorporating their life stories and/or a specific event. No where near a photographic copy. More my personal interpretation of what I’m asked for. These are quiet demanding but lovely when the recipient calls in to say the love it.

Well that’s it for another blog be safe in the week ahead and hopefully see you all back here next time. And don’t forget we have Philip Raskin in the gallery on Saturday 4 November doing demonstrations.

Love and best wishes
