Its been a productive week with the brushes and also looking for a bolt hole in the sun.
Painting is going well and I’m working through the commissions list. I love the interaction with my lovely collectors and delivering a finished painting for their walls.
Thursday we started to explore Spain for a winter bolt hole. The Spanish we have found are a friendly bunch. Although my pigeon Geordie Spanish takes them aback a little. But with smiles and hand signals we all muddle through.
I’ve packed the brushes and art gear so in between property jaunts and wandering,we will be busy. We have met a few Brits out here who are following the Scottish referendum.
I have also been emailed asking my opinion. Scotland I feel is already a country in its own right. It says Scotland when I got married and crossed over from my county Northumberland.
Scottish people and Northumberland people share a common bond, they all worked in heavy industry, ship building, mining and steal smelting. I don’t therefore feel any different living in the Borders than I did at Boulmer. There is no doubt Britain is a much better place for having Scotland in it.
So for all my Scottish friends and collectors I say please cast you vote and we will see where this takes us. The country could certainly stand up on its own feet.I personally will leave it up to all to make up their own minds and lets hope for an out come that unites all.
