Hello and welcome back to my Blogg.
Painting wise it’s been a great week with some great studio time to push on with commissions, and also work for my own gallery.
On a sadder note we have recently lost two friends to cancer, both of whom had treatment at the same time as Yvonne. Kevin & Lorna, two amazing people who were full of life have lost their battles and my great friend, John Charlton is now fighting with all his strengh to beat this terrible disease. We should not forget the intensity of the treatment or the fight and how it takes its toll. Everyday that goes by with Yvonne still in my life is a bonus after being told it was terminal. This is a fight that needs an amazing amount of heart from the cancer sufferer through to family, friends, and the great medical team.
This brings me to my latest painting for charity:
‘The Journey is long – (Heart and Soul)’
The painting records the fight and reflects the intensity of the journey.
The original painting will be going to the McMillan treatment ward at the Borders General Hospital. There will be 10 limited edition prints made which I will hand embellish and add to so they all individual in there own right.
All monies raised will go to McMillan Cancer Research to help fund what they do.
From me as an artist it’s the least I could do to say a big thank to all concerned in Yvonne’s fight for life journey. The NHS is often criticised in the media. Possibly due to politicians interfering. But when it was needed for Yvonne it was fantastic.
Good luck to all wherever they are, fighting this fight.
Until next time have a good week ahead.
