Football Association Museum in Manchester
As a little lad growing up, like all my friends and family had dreams, influenced by our hero’s. Mine, as a footballer was George Best he seemed to be able to dribble past any defender and either lay off a great goal of score one himself. I loved football and still do,wishing even today, to have been good enough to have played for my premier league team and country.
Sadly ability, luck, injuries and life did not conspire to a playing career in football. However the next best thing is certainly to paint and record through my artworks both my collectors and my own journey through life. Recalling endless long summer days, some of course spent playing football.
This brings me to our magical visit to the magnificent Football Association Museum inManchester. This stunning building is absolutely packed full of football history memorabilia and interactive exhibits. As part of their visitor experience the FA have selected art work from some of Britain’s leading Artists covering the subject of the beautiful game.
I feel very humble, and indeed fortunate to join these exclusive ranks with two of my paintings ‘Jumpers for Goal Posts’ and ‘The Beautiful Game.’ now part of their Art Collection.
