How Could I make a difference
I donated a major piece of work based on the uplifting performances at the last Olympics and how their efforts inspired a nation. Our young people’s health and well being is such a worthwhile course. All proceeds from the raffling of the painting will go Kelso High School to securing a heart defibulator for the School.
This course was brought to my attention when I was approached by a young fellow from the School who was going to try and raise funds to try and get a machine for the School. Could I suggest ways to help him do this. Well it just was apt that i have just finished this painting life and Kama meant it just had to be done. Matthew Hall explained to me that 270 children a year die in UK Schools and this machine could help prevent a death if a cardiac incident happened at the School.
One child one day saved by this machine would make it all worthwhile they should be in our schools and crèches and town centres to help save lives where every possible. So putting in the machines and teaching the young how to administer this life saving treatment would be fantastic. In fact why not go the full hog and add first aid and life saving to the national school curriculum. Going forward this may make the nation a much safer place to be.
Life is about leaving a mark and where possible putting back to the society that nurtured us and got us to this point.
