Monday

Sometimes you put the TV on and you see an account of a young child starved and beaten to death by those who should be loving and educating and protecting him or her. It saddens Tony to think that this happens today, in these “civilised” times. This story made Tony think that we should all look out for children. They are, after all, the planet’s future.

Tuesday

Juggling hospital visits with work load is at times very stretching, but again Tony and Yvonne, who have been dealing with this problem for almost a year, manage this. They arrive at the Western Hospital for preparation for Yvonne’s surgery next week. A quick scan of the vitals is all: blood pressure, height, weight, and general fitness, assessed through blood samples and so on. All goes well; Yvonne is ready for her surgery.

Wednesday

Tony arrives at the Gallery for 09:00, a relatively early start for him. Immediately he begins the paintings he’s working on for his planned American tour. This, coupled with a few meetings, fills the day. A very satisfying day, in all.

Thursday

Thursday started much like Wednesday. Tony arrived in the studio early to work on his paintings. What a magical way to earn a living, he says. Later in the day a supplier arrived to pick up some of Tony’s work. As any savvy artist knows, the key to success is exposure. It’s also nice to catch up with agents from various art suppliers and publishers, many of whom are good friends.

Friday

Friday saw a surge of people in the Gallery. Of particular note were a family from Bradford. The children completed one of the Gallery’s quiz sheets, leaving the Art House with two fine drawings on the back. This was added to the Gallery’s collection of work from young artists. It’s always nice to put something back into the community.

Saturday

In all, this has been a great week. Plenty of painting; plenty of socialising with friends and strangers alike. These fantastic people come from all over the UK, catching up with Tony when they happen to be in town. These people, Tony says, are the reason Tony paints. Brilliant, caring people, all armed with unexpected gifts and words of support for Tony and Yvonne.
