Monday
Monday was a great start to the week. Tony and Yvonne were on location, researching an upcoming commission. Fresh air and a brisk walk under the rare Scottish sun are both always good. A very pleasant start to the week, overall.
Tuesday
Tuesday was a rare relaxed, slow-paced day for Tony. After juggling his many commitments (meetings and so on), the artist was finally afforded a day of his own to paint and generally take it easy. Much progress was made on various commissions and even Tony’s new body of work. In the evening, Tony and Yvonne had a lovely meal with some collector friends.
Wednesday
Wednesday was a much more typical day in the Gallery. Meetings occupied Tony until lunchtime, and then he found some time to work on his paintings. Tony enjoys delving into his memory and reminiscing about his childhood: football matches in which he played, the dreaded cross-country, and the other childhood experiences in which he forged lasting friendships with kids of the same age.
Thursday
First thing Thursday morning, Tony was in a meeting with an up-and-coming artist who has only recently returned to the art world. She was very pleased to see her paintings framed and hung on the walls of a top-end gallery. There is a vast amount of satisfaction in that kind of validation, and Tony was glad to see this promising artist with a smile on her face.
Friday
Friday continued a recurring trend. Various appointments and meetings continued to eat into Tony’s time. In the time between these, the artist returned to his studio at the top of the gallery. Having eaten out three times that week, by Saturday morning Tony’s trousers were definitely feeling the strain.
Saturday
On a particularly sunny Saturday, Tony was hoping to go flying. However, various commitments and a robust Scottish wind hampered Tony’s plans. Again, Tony was handling meetings with collectors and friends, and snatching time to paint when he could. Saturday sees the greatest number of well-wishers in the Gallery. Tony is constantly touched by the care that the wider community has shown at this difficult time. The messages of support he and Yvonne have received recently affirm Tony’s view that there are more good people in the world than bad. Once again, he would like to thank everyone who has shown their support.
