Monday

Monday marked Tony and Yvonne’s last full day in Boston. To celebrate, the couple took the city’s famous trolley tour, eventually jumping off at the Cheers bar. Tony and Yvonne are huge fans of the TV show, and loved visiting the set. While in the US, Tony has sourced art suppliers and has even looked into studio space and accommodation. His next body of work will be inspired by the many photographs he’s taken of the American landscape. Tony is even considering returning to do some location work.

Tuesday

Tuesday started with a decent lie in; a rare indulgence for Tony and Yvonne. Then the two took their last opportunity to see the beautiful city of Boston, using the Charlie tickets that get you around town on the easy to use underground. Tony took some last-minute images to use in his planned paintings, before buying himself a final souvenir: a Boston firefighter’s t-shirt. Always good, Tony says, to donate to such a noble cause.

Tony and Yvonne were at the nearby airport for 16:00. After several searches and an hour in the B. A lounge, they were on the plane, heading home to sunny (really!) Scotland.

Wednesday

Tony and Yvonne arrived in London at 06:00, hoping to transfer to Edinburgh. Naturally, Heathrow was an absolute nightmare.

Arriving in Edinburgh, Tony and Yvonne picked up their car then drove off to procure essential supplies, later heading home. Tony was tired, but resolved to stay awake and work on his fresh ideas in his studio in an attempt to beat jet lag.

Overall, it’s been a great trip away: Tony’s met lots of great contacts, and he feels that the future will be bright after Yvonne’s surgery’s and final treatments. She’s very relaxed and recharged in anticipation of the fight ahead.

Thursday

Back in the studio painting after a short interruption. Tony, fresh from his American holiday (or “vacation”), has loads of ideas to push on with. The studio is very warm, so paint is drying more quickly than usual. Tony reports that he has started four canvasses: the American body of work.

Friday

Tony managed to work on his paintings for a full day on Friday; a rare occurrence. Yvonne was bouncing around the gallery; still, Tony reports, full of ideas and energy for the months ahead.

Saturday

As usual, Saturday was a day of magical people visiting the gallery, intermixed with painting. Saturday seems to be the day when all of Tony’s favourite people swoop down, en masse, upon the Gallery.
