Monday

On Monday, Tony was in the Art House to assist David and Gordon, its new owners. It’s tough, says Tony, but he’s confident that David and Gordon will continue the Art House legacy. Tony will continue to support young, up-and-coming talent in his studio.

Tuesday

Tony fit in some painting on Tuesday. He also started a new book, for presentation in the Gallery and use on tour.

Wednesday

Tony was in the Gallery again for some meetings concerning the recent handover. Later in the day, he was visited by Victoria Kerr, an extremely talented young artist. Victoria is deaf and suffers from ME, but she has not let this stop her. Her realistic paintings of horses have to be seen to be believed.

After Victoria left, Jenni Bell arrived in the Gallery. The winner of the Art House Gallery’s Young Artist Competition, she is working with Tony to improve her skills. She painted all morning, as did Tony. He is always glad to help others.

Thursday

Tony returned to his studio on Thursday. He spoke to several lovely people, including Howard, who has worked on ships for over 40 years. He had a good crack with Tony, who hails from a village where fishing was a popular industry.

Friday

Tony was in his studio again on Friday, working with Victoria. Tony reports that she was a delight to work with. He says that you can see the emotion associated with her art in her work. Her obsessive realism is the result of complete dedication. The day passes very quickly, and soon she is gone. After she left, five visitors raved about her work. A future star.

Saturday

Jenni Bell popped into the studio on Saturday. She painted for most of the day. Tony believes that Jenni, like Victoria, is going places. He also reports that she has great music taste.

As the end of the week draws to a close, so does Tony’s oversight of the Art House. He has finally passed ownership of the business to two very talented lads, David and Gordon. The next five weeks will be spent in Edinburgh for Yvonne’s radiotherapy. Tony has sold the business to care for Yvonne, whose battle against cancer has been inspirational. Have a great week.
