Monday

On Monday, Tony began painting for the first time in weeks. It’s liberating, he says, to be working again. Tony’s started on an ambitious new project, which he says aims to represent the ongoing journey that is life. This very exciting project began life on the back of junk mail envelopes, but has now moved to canvas.

Tuesday

More creativity! Now, Tony’s working on his first sculpture. “Something quirky, something fun,” he muses, “but with a serious message: we all need someone.” The first prototype will hopefully be ready in the next few weeks.

Wednesday

Alas, all that unbridled creativity had to come to an end eventually. Wednesday was a dreary admin day. Tony was in attendance at the Leaflet Exchange at Springwood Park. All is not as bad it seems, however; such events are great for business. Tony picked up a number of new leads, as well as a potential commission.

Thursday

Tony travelled to Dunbar for some work on location. A customer had requested a painting of the harbour there. The harbour is full of character: boats of all shapes and sizes are moored there. From the big trawler, manned by professional fishermen, to the humble rowing boat with a tiny outboard motor, all varieties of ship are harboured at Dunbar.

Friday

Tony: “Well, sometimes in life you wish you had not left the safety and warmth of your bed. Today was one of those days—a day when if my jaw was not fixed to my face it would have struck the ground floor of the second floor hospital meeting room I was in. Yvonne, as you may be aware, is fighting cancer. We were told today that all the doctors can do for her is delay the spread of the cancer, and that there is probably no win situation for us rather a delaying fight.

How do you begin to imagine your life without your best pal in it?”

Saturday

Creative work resumed on Saturday as Tony picked up his paintbrushes once more. However, this was interrupted by the flow of well-wishers coming in to see Tony and Yvonne. This, Tony says, is never a problem as the brilliant interaction with customers and friends is what makes the Art House a fantastic place to work.
