Monday
Monday morning began with some painting in Tony’s studio. The artist says that he still has to pinch himself to remind him that this is his day job. Fortunately, the painting goes well; this is the only day of the following week that Tony will be in his studio.
Tuesday
Tony and Yvonne left for America on Tuesday morning. This is their first holiday since Yvonne’s treatment began. Doctors initially predicted that Yvonne would not be able to fly for some time, but she has proved them wrong.
The America trip is not just a holiday, however. American galleries have expressed interest in Tony’s work. Tony and Yvonne have set up a couple of meetings in Boston, Massachusetts and Portland, Oregon.
Wednesday
On Wednesday, Tony and Yvonne arrived in Boston. Afterwards, they took a tour of the city. Yvonne loves Boston; it’s good, says Tony, to see her happy again.
Thursday
On Thursday, Tony and Yvonne met with several galleries to discuss potential exhibitions. Watch this space.
Friday
On Friday Tony and Yvonne hired a 4×4 Subaru and travelled north to Maine. Great harbours and lighthouses (more nautical inspiration for Tony), good food (which Yvonne appreciates), and of course friendly people.
Saturday
Saturday began with meetings. Afterwards, Yvonne and Tony travelled to see a Maine railway and some of the state’s famous lighthouses. The weather is great in the US, reports Tony. He is looking forward to producing some artwork which captures the US’s friendly spirit when he returns to Scotland.
