Monday
Exploring Edinburgh after Yvonne’s treatment at the Western. Another nice day for a wander, gathering inspiration for upcoming paintings. A good start to the week.
Tuesday
No hospital visit today: the machine is being serviced. Instead, Tony and Yvonne visited the Parliament building for a tour. Tony was looking for ideas for a commission. After two hours, an idea is born. Watch this space.
Wednesday
Jenni Bell was in the studio again on Wednesday. She is working on a new collection for the Art House, hoping to fund herself through university on her budding art career. Tony thinks she is massively talented; it has been a pleasure to mentor her.
Thursday
Another great day. The hospital visit went well; Yvonne is taking the treatment in her stride, though she is a little tired. Fingers crossed for a good outcome. Afterwards, off home to paint in the studio.
Friday
Another visit to the hospital, followed by a quick lunch (steak and chips). Tony has agreed to create a painting for the Western General Hospital, based on someone’s battle with cancer. Tony will make sure that his painting is a colourful and uplifting one: if it helps people when they are down, or offers them some small comfort, then the painting will have done its job.
Saturday
No visit to Edinburgh on Saturday. Instead, Tony spent the day catching up with David and Gordon, the Gallery’s new owners. That afternoon, Tony received an offer on his plane, and is considering letting her go. It’s very hard to fly when you’re doing it against the odds, says Tony.
Have a great week, everybody; best wishes to you all.
