Monday

On Monday, Tony and Yvonne headed to Boulmer Village, near Alnwick, for a magical walk along one of the world’s greatest beaches. While there, Tony drew a few sketches and took a few photographs. A lovely, well-deserved day overall.

Tuesday

Tony was in the Gallery first thing Tuesday morning, handling administration and various orders. Later, it was off to the Borders General Hospital for Yvonne’s second treatment. The staff and the patients there have the most amazing outlook on life, Tony finds.

Wednesday

After being captured in Alnwick, Tony again spent some time on the beach at Boulmer. The cold weather didn’t faze Tony, who prefers cold, dry days to the comparatively warm, rainy days that Scotland is accustomed to. More sketches were made on Wednesday.

Thursday

Thursday was spent alone in the Gallery. Much of the day was spent interacting with visitors, but at various times Tony was able to sneak upstairs and work on his sketching. A lovely couple, who had purchased one of Tony’s paintings over the Christmas period, came in for a chat.

Friday

On Friday, Tony started working on stories to accompany his latest batch of paintings. Most of the day was spent juggling interactions with visitors, collectors and friends and also the many paintings that need to be completed before the upcoming exhibition can go ahead.

Saturday

A fantastic day in the Gallery. Plenty of people visited, among them well-wishers seeking to speak to Yvonne. It was absolutely delightful to see her in the Gallery. This will obviously be the case less and less as her treatment advances. Tony would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the warmth and generosity that they’ve shown recently.
Unfortunately, Tony, who has been itching to go flying recently, has been grounded. There are simply too many administrative issues to deal with in the Gallery. As a result, Tony was jealous indeed when a friend of his returned from a three-hour flight.
