3 Snowmen commission pieces on route to Ad Gefrin distillery

I am very proud to announce that 3 of my ‘Snowmen’ commission pieces are on route to the magnificent Ad Gefrin distillery situated in Wooler, Northumberland.

Ad Gefrin is the first whisky distillery to open in my home county of Northumberland in over 200 years. Not only a distillery but a wonderful visitor attraction with a museum covering the Anglo Saxon history of the region from 600AD.

If you haven’t visited Ad Gefrin yet, please do so. There is something for everyone including a wonderful Bistro showcasing the best of fresh local produce.

Very humbling to know my work is with the Ferguson Family at Ad Gefrin, the Football Association Museum in Manchester and with collectors around the world.

Visit soon and experience the amazing warm welcome within Ad Gefrin.

Wheels Through Time

During these last two covid ridden years I have often wondered, ‘How could I bring my two loves , Art and Motorcycling together ?’ . Today, I achieved that aim and also ticked an item of my Bucket List.

Back in 2018, Dale Walksler from North Carolina, USA sent me a very old spark plug from a very old motorcycle. Dale, who has worked in the Motorcycle industry all his life, founded the ‘Wheels through Time Museum’ in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. The museum is one of the oldest and largest in the world.

The museum staff are beyond knowledgeable on all the exhibits, of which there are over 400 including a Harley Davidson aeroplane! Sadly, Dale passed away in October 2021, leaving the museum in the care of his son, Matt and his fantastic team.

So back to the spark plug……. I had the spark plug micro engraved to help raise funds for Wheels through Time. I could have just mailed this back to the museum but I had a better idea. The 20th Anniversary of the museum was on 4th July 2022 so Yvonne and I hopped on a flight and arrived in Asheville, NC a few days before the anniversary.

On the 4th July we drove the short distance to Maggie Valley to take part in the celebrations and what a fantastic day we had. Matt met us with such enthusiasm and the day turned out to be one of best ever. The engraved spark plug now has pride of place within the magnificent exhibits. I have ridden motorcycles for over 40 years and have seldom had such a magical interaction at one destination.

Without a doubt, this is a must see destination for motorcyclists world wide, it certainly won’t be my last visit.

Well hello and welcome to my blog. I hope I find you in good heart and spirit, despite the best attempts of our politicians and media to report bad news.

Well it’s been a busy week putting the finishing touches to “Everybody needs Somebody. “ It depicts the Big Boat being helped into port, nice to know someone has your back.

Work continues on both my arthousescotland.com & tonyhuggins-haig.com website. Repeated attacks by Russian hackers has led to several rebuilds of the sites. Apologies to anyone experiencing difficulties with either of these. Let’s hope we are now ‘hacker free’ to enable us to bring great artworks to where they are needed and appreciated most.

The week ahead

The week ahead looks like a very productive painting one. I’m working on some great commissions for Christmas delivery.

The weather is getting both cooler and damper. The autumnal magical colours means it’s becoming a little more slippery so stay safe and warm.

See you next time.

Better weather coming …..

Well hello and thank you to you all for taking the time to pop by.

Studio

Thankfully we have had a few crisp bright days this week, which have been great for

walking and clearing the ‘heed’

We have even managed to do some research at Eyemouth for a commission piece.  The old fish market has now gone and there are many machines around ready to start work on up-grading the area.

Naturally, being down in Eyemouth resulted in having take away Fish & Chips, delicious.

We are open 24/7 online, hopefully next week we will get a better idea of when we can open the doors and allow you to visit by appointment.

Week ahead

The way the injections are reported by the media, you would think COVID was beaten.

That is not so, don’t be fooled it will be much later in the year when all have been vaccinated. So keep distancing, wash those hands and wear masks.

Sending our love and a big hugs to you all.

Stay safe.

T&Y

Cold and frosty morning …

Well hello to you all and thank you for popping by for this quick catch-up.

Studio

A few brisk fresh walks with all this snow laying around has led to some great studio creating time. This in turn has allowed me to catch up with both commissions and some new gallery artworks.

Can’t wait to show these at the earliest opportunity.

Sadly nothing new to report as we remain closed due to government guidelines.

However as you know we run by appointment and this will continue when we are allowed to open. We are open 24/7 online.

Week ahead

The weather has left us blanketed with snow so travel safe, stay safe and have a fab week ahead.

Love and big hugs to you all
